        Working in Maintenance is fast paced and rewarding

        The shift pattern for this role is Monday to Friday 8am to 4.30pm and includes being on-call 24/7 on a rota basis (usually 1 week in 4)

        You must have your own transport to be able to work at all our sites.

        We are looking for someone with excellent DIY/Handyperson skills who can problem solve issues and complete repairs and maintenance quickly and efficiently. The ideal candidate needs to be computer literate and willing to download our maintenance app onto their phone.

        Previous experience in a similar role is essential. Candidates with plumbing, joinery, basic electrical experience would be an advantage.

        We pride ourselves in producing quality home food using fresh local products. As part of the catering team you will work alongside others in a calm and efficient manner. Working as a team you will demonstrate excellent culinary skills, teamwork and integrity. Our resident’s choices and dietary needs are priority, and you will pride yourself on providing nutritous, delicious and well-presented meals. You will assist the head chef with paperwork, rotas, menus, ordering, seating plans etc and must be confident in using a computer to do so.

        The shift pattern for this role is Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm. Some evening and weekend work may be required and to be on call when needed.

        • You will act in accordance with Abbeyfield policies and procedures at all times
        • Attend meetings and training and development as required, including the need for occasional overnight stays
        • Understanding and complying with Abbeyfield’s safeguarding arrangements as well as local multi agency Safeguarding policy and procedures.
        • Working closely with Abbeyfield volunteers and colleagues in both member societies and those working for The Abbeyfield Society based locally, regionally and at the national office, with the aim of providing a seamless service

        · You will contribute to and where appropriate manage specific projects

        · Undertaking such other duties as Abbeyfield The Dales may reasonably require commensurate with the grading of the post

        · Maintaining registration with the appropriate professional body and to take responsibility for your own learning and development and continuing professional development

        · Ensuring personal and staff awareness of best practice guidance and documentation, implementing initiatives as appropriate within the service

        · You will be responsible for the health and safety and welfare of all staff within your service and as part of this you will monitor sickness absence and ensure this and other management information data is returned as required. With appropriate guidance from the recruitment team or senior leadership team you will take a lead role in dealing with any issues arising from persistent sickness absence.

        All candidates must hold a management qualification e.g. Registered Managers Award or NVQ 5 Leadership and Management. A professional social care or health care qualification NVQ 4 Care, DIpSW, RGN and a minimum of 3 years’ experience working with older people and demonstrable experience of delivering care services.

        A full clean driving licence and use of your own vehicle is required.

        Joining our team as a member of Bank staff allows you to be flexible with your working hours, giving you the option to choose how much or how little you work, and when.

        Bank staff have no contracted hours, and will be called upon to cover annual leave, sickness and other busy periods within the business. Bank staff are paid at the same excellent rates of pay as permanent members of staff, and accrue annual leave per hours worked.
