    We are currently recruiting for Bank staff across all Abbeyfield The Dales sites, and in numerous roles:

    Joining our team as a member of Bank staff allows you to be flexible with your working hours, giving you the option to choose how much or how little you work, and when.

    Bank staff have no contracted hours, and will be called upon to cover annual leave, sickness and other busy periods within the business. Bank staff are paid at the same excellent rates of pay as permanent members of staff, and accrue annual leave per hours worked.

    Location: Barnoldswick
    Hours: 26 hours per week over 4 days
    salary: £9.48 per hour

    We are recruiting for a Cook at our Barnoldswick site working 26 hours per week over four days.

    The shifts are as follows;

    Wednesday      8.30am to 1.30pm

    Thursday         8.30am to 1.30pm then 3.30pm to 5.30pm

    Friday              8.30am to 1.30pm then 3.30pm to 5.30pm

    Saturday         8.30am to 1.30pm then 3.30pm to 5.30pm

    Barnoldswick provides Supported Accommodation for the over 55’s delivering two home cooked meals per day by on-site staff in an informal setting, set in a beautiful part of the world.

    The main duties are:

    Prepare, cook and serve up to 2 meals each day which are in line with the preferences and dietary needs of residents.

    Ensure the kitchen is clean and tidy on a daily basis, including washing up, discarding rubbish, wiping and cleaning work surfaces, hob and oven and brushing and mopping the floor.

    Clear and clean kitchen cupboards, rotate stock, empty and defrost the fridge and freezer.

    Carry out daily checks as designated, for example fire alarm tests.

    Assist as required with social functions that take place at the house.

    Provide cover for other staff as required.

    This is a lovely role with a long standing well established staff team who all work together for the benefit of the residents.

    We currently have a vacancy for a Care Assistant (Days) to join our friendly team at Fern House, Bingley

    We are looking for a Care Assistant with the same values as Abbeyfield The Dales – Caring, Open, Honest and Respectful. We want someone who is passionate about ensuring our residents are supported to feel secure, cared for and valued and we want you to help us enrich their lives. Our resident’s well being is at the centre of everything we do.

    Working as part of a team, you will participate in the delivery of care to the residents to ensure that their physical, social, intellectual and emotional needs are met and ensuring dignity, choice, independence and respect.

    To be able to communicate and interact well with people is essential for this role, as is an understanding and empathy for the needs of older people.

    You will be working 36 hours a week (3 x 12.5 hour days) on a 4 week rota basis, which will include working a maximum of one full weekend and one half weekend, in every 4 weeks. You will also be required to work some bank holidays, on a rota basis.

    Shift times are 7.00am until 7.30pm, which includes a 30 minute unpaid break.

    The salary is £9.00 per hour.

    To undertake cleaning duties and ironing, as specified by the manager.

    Work effectively with others to ensure that resident’s needs are met.

    To promote and encourage independence at all times to enable residents to achieve their own personal goals and objectives.

    To provide support and security to residents at all times.

    To be flexible to cover sickness and annual leave.

    Essential Requirements:
    A. Ability to communicate and interact well with people
    B. To be able to read, write and work with numbers to a good standard
    C. Ability to work well as part of a team.
    D. A willingness to undertake training to achieve NVQ Level 2 qualification or equivalent
    E. Demonstrate an empathy and understanding of the needs of older people
    F. Ability to carry out all aspects of the role to a high standard at all times

    Desirable Requirements:
    G. Experience in a similar role within a health or social care setting
    H. A relevant NVQ Level 2 qualification or equivalent.
    I. Working in services for older people
    J. Evidence of continuing training and development.
