        We are looking for a caring and reliable Care Assistant to join our team.

        The working pattern for this role is –

        Week 1- x 3 shifts over 7 days 8am to 8pm

        Week 2- x 1 shift 8an to 2pm and x2 8am to 8pm

        Includes alternate weekends

        Key Duties

        •  Provide person-centred personal care and support with daily living activities
        • Promote residents’ dignity, independence and wellbeing
        • Monitor health needs and report concerns to senior staff
        • Assist with mobility, continence care, meals and use of equipment
        • Support residents to engage in social activities and events
        • Contribute to care planning and act as a Key Worker as required

        • Good spoken and written English
        • Able to work the required hours
        • Right to work in the UK and able to commute reliably

        Hours:

        2 shifts over 7 days 8am to 6pm (alternate weekends)

        Key Duties:

        • Prepare and cook daily lunch and teatime meals.
        • Assist with menu planning and kitchen rota management.
        • Ensure adequate stock levels and assist with ordering from approved suppliers.
        • Support catering for social and special functions as required.
        • Maintain high standards of food hygiene, safety, and cleanliness in line with Environmental Health Regulations, including SFBB records and cleaning schedules.
        • Monitor food storage, temperatures, and handling procedures.
        • Maintain kitchen equipment, cutlery, and crockery, reporting any faults or repairs needed.

        Key Duties:

        • Prepare, cook, and serve nutritious meals that meet residents’ dietary needs and preferences.
        • Maintain a clean, safe, and hygienic kitchen, completing daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning tasks.
        • Manage food storage, stock rotation, and labelling in line with food safety standards.
        • Complete all required food safety records, including temperature checks and cleaning schedules.
        • Assist with catering for house events and social functions as required.
        • Provide cover for colleagues and attend training, meetings, and supervision as required.
        • Follow Health and Safety, food hygiene, and confidentiality policies at all times.

        We are currently recruiting for Bank staff across all Abbeyfield The Dales sites, and in numerous roles:

        Joining our team as a member of Bank staff allows you to be flexible with your working hours, giving you the option to choose how much or how little you work, and when.

        Bank staff have no contracted hours, and will be called upon to cover annual leave, sickness and other busy periods within the business. Bank staff are paid at the same excellent rates of pay as permanent members of staff, and accrue annual leave per hours worked.

        As a Bank member of staff, you have the option to work at any of our Abbeyfield The Dales sites across West and North Yorkshire and into Lancashire, which include:

        • Grove House, Ilkley
        • Fern House, Bingley
        • The Beeches, Menston
        • Harriet St & St Stephens St, Burnley

        As a Bank member of staff at Abbeyfield The Dales, you will benefit from the same award-winning training as permanent staff, delivered in-house and which you are paid to attend.
