    Key Objectives:

    To participate in the delivery of care to the residents to ensure that their physical, social, intellectual and emotional needs are met and ensuring dignity, choice, independence and respect

    To ensure that all aspects of the regulatory framework are met, and all reports are completed.

    Consult with residents and the senior team to assist in developing individual care plans for residents, and to review these as a team monthly.

    To undertake laundry, cleaning and ironing duties, as specified by the manager.

    Work effectively with others to ensure that resident’s needs are met.

    To promote and encourage independence at all times to enable residents to achieve their own personal goals and objectives.

    To provide support and security to residents at all times.

    To be flexible to cover sickness and annual leave.

    Essential Requirements:

    1. Ability to communicate and interact well with people
    2. To be able to read, write and work with numbers to a good standard
    3. Ability to work well as part of a team.
    4. Demonstrate an empathy and understanding of the needs of older people
    5. Ability to carry out all aspects of the role to a high standard at all times

    Desirable Requirements:

    1. Experience in a similar role within a health or social care setting
    2. A relevant NVQ Level 2 qualification or equivalent.

    Location: Grove House, Ilkley
    Hours: 30 per week (over 3 nights)
    Salary: £9.30 per hour

    We currently have a vacancy for a Care Assistant (Nights) to join our friendly team on our Extra Care Unit at Grove House, Ilkley working 30 hours per week over 3 night shifts.

    Shifts are from 21.15pm until 07.15am, 3 nights per week (10 hours per night) on a rota basis, which will include working alternate weekends.

    We are recruiting for a Senior Care Assistant to join our team at Grove House, Ilkley on our residential unit.

    The role is 36 hours a week over 3 days on a rolling 4 week shift pattern, which will include some weekends on a rota basis. Each shift includes a 30 minute unpaid break.

    Please note: NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Health and Social Care is required for this role

    Job Title:

    Reports to:

    Maintenance Manager

    Key objectives:

    Resolve maintenance issues as required

    Main tasks:

    Working as part of a small team to ensure the safety & functional running of all sites.

    To provide an effective maintenance and gardening service.

    To provide an on call service on a rota basis.

    General Requirements

    · To assist in carrying out regular checks on safety equipment, fire detection, alarm systems, emergency lighting, automatic door controls etc.

    · To assist in carrying out checks on fixed equipment eg. heating and plumbing, air conditioning, laundry equipment, general lighting & power systems.

    · To carry out general maintenance issues to include, replacing taps, showers, some joinery work

    · Investigating & problem sorting

    · PAT test and check functioning of portable mains powered electrical equipment.

    · Clean and disinfect all shower head fittings in accordance with Legionella prevention/precautions.

    · To include some general garden maintenance. To keep the courtyard, patio areas, car parks, entrances/exits clear of debris and ice in the winter months.

    · Handling of kitchen waste and general rubbish to the waste holding areas

    · Dealing with contractors and ordering of supplies.

    • Be familiar with the administrative records and ensure that all records are kept up to date.
    • To follow appropriate procedures in the event of accidents/ emergencies e.g. fire, missing residents.
    • Ensure that all areas are safe and secure at all times whilst on duty.
    • To report and advise the relevant persons with respect to the repairs and maintenance of the establishment.
    • Undertake cleaning and laundry duties as outlined by Manager to maintain a clean and safe living and working environment at all times.
